Overview

The Dominican Journal of Gastroenterology, a free, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific publication edited by the Dominican Society of Gastroenterology (SODOGASTRO), invites the submission of manuscripts that contribute significantly to the knowledge, diagnosis, or management of gastroenterological conditions; its purpose is to promote and disseminate unpublished studies in clinical, surgical, and experimental gastroenterology, as well as in related disciplines, contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge for the benefit of medical practice and public health.

Scope

The Dominican Journal of Gastroenterology is an open-access scientific publication dedicated to the dissemination of original research, reviews, clinical cases, and other relevant articles on gastroenterology, hepatology, digestive endoscopy, digestive system diseases, clinical nutrition, coloproctology, gastrointestinal motility, and related specialties. Manuscripts in Spanish and English are accepted.

Article Types

  1. Original Articles (≤ 4,000 words)
  2. Case Reports (≤ 2,000 words)
  3. Reviews (≤ 5,000 words)
  4. Letters to the Editor and Brief Communications (≤ 800 words)
  5. Images in Gastroenterology (≤ 250 words)

Submission Requirements

  • Languages: English or Spanish (with bilingual abstract and keywords).
  • Abstract: Structured, between 150 to 250 words.
  • Keywords: 3–5 MeSH/DeCS terms.
  • Format: IMRD for original articles; free structure for other types.
  • References: Vancouver style, consecutive numbering.
  • Figures and Tables: Numbered and with captions in both languages.
  • Manuscript: Word file, double-spaced, 2.5 cm margins, Times New Roman 12 pt.
  • Cover Letter: Declaration of author contributions and conflicts of interest.

Peer Review and Publication Timeline

  • Review: Double-blind
  • Initial decision: Within 12 weeks of submission
  • Online publication: Immediate upon acceptance
